Operating Room Assistant
Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent with a minimum of one year experience in institutional cleaning/operating room environment preferred.
- Demonstrate good knowledge of housekeeping, sanitation, sterilization, and guidelines for infectious waste.
- Demonstrate proficient communication skills.
- Able to regularly lift, push, pull up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
- Required to assist with patient positioning in a sterile environment, lift supplies, move equipment and furniture to meet facility cleaning standards.
- Must be self-motivated, hardworking and a team player.
Job Summary:
- Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and team members to ensure a safe, professional, clean, responsible, and courteous environment.
- Adheres to the basic cleaning and Operating Room terminal cleaning process policies and procedures.
- Perform routine and specialty cleaning as required to maintain a clean, neat, and sanitary environment.
- Understands and can maintain a sterile environment. Able to don sterile gowns and gloves to assist clinical staff.
- Assist clinical team with room turnovers between patients in a safe and efficient manner.
- Ability to follow the manufacturer's instructions for use for all cleaning products.
- Assists in stocking and maintaining proper supply levels in the facility.
- Performs other facility duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing.
